Layson A. Williams: About the Author

It was a cold, grey morning on March 15th, 1973, the same day of the year that Julius Caesar was stabbed to death over 30 times by his closest friends. A cold wind blew past a concrete hospital in Goleta, California. A woman screamed in brutal agony from unbearable labour pains as she gave birth to a young male child who was destined to be no one in particular. The doctours did not even smile as the child was slapped and then taken to be registered and monitoured. He was ripped from the loving arms of the one who immersed him with the pure love that only a mother could give, yet no longer.

I was born in the room next door a few hours later.

My name is William A. Nelson. I go by the writing name of Layson A. Williams not to protect the innocent, but because I like the sound of it. I am 33 years of age and have been married to a wonderful woman by the name of Erin for ten years. We have a 4 sons and 2 daughters, all of whom have four legs and a tail each. I lived in the Sacramento Valley for twenty years, and moved to the Willamette Valley in Oregon to experience another area.

I currently am working Product Support for an Antivirus Software Comapny and loving it. I find it pleasing to solve issues and get company networks secured from infections. I also help with Spam deterrents and getting mail flow under control. The thing is, I wanted to do my own thing and not be a Mail Carrier like my father, so I went digital instead.

There's some irony in there somewhere that I'm going to have to come to terms with, I just know it.

Nonetheless, my real love (next to my God and my wife) is my writing. I have completed four short stories: one fiction but based on my religious beliefs, and the other three are science-fiction. I also have several poems that I am proud of. If you ask, I'll probably let you read them.
