(WILL YOU) STOP THAT

Every time I close my eyes

I see you there

With me or some other guy

You’re my thoughts-- it’s not fair

Never tried to bother you

From what I’ve known

Always asking what you’d do

Why won’t you leave me alone?

        Chorus:

Will you . . . stop that . . .

Get out of my mind

Stop making me think of you

. . . Will you stop that

Can’t see anything with

Your face always in my view

Have to get the though of you

Out of my brain

Stop and try to start anew

But I can’t stand the pain

Should have known you’d cloud my head

All the things you’ve done and said

Just confused my naive heart

    Chorus

(Guitar solo, breakdown from bass, then bridge)

        Bridge:

Have to fight - Try to think independently

See the light - You are not what I think you be

It’s too bright - Can’t let you get away from me

Back to night - [I can’t  help it]- I need you, baby, can’t you see?

You’re sunshine but you block out

Everything else

What am I talking about?

I’m just kidding myself

Don’t love me but I love you

And that’s a shame

But the things you say and do

How can you say I’m to blame?

        Chorus (Repeat to fadeout).
