All alone in her room,
Morning comes along,
Sunlight bathes her beauty and she wakes.
Brown eyes still full of sleep,
Birds singing her song,
Can't afford the time that nature takes.
Water, cold, meets her face
(Jump-start to her heart),
Hoping that last night was just a dream.
Consciences don't forget;
They tear you apart.
Soon her conscience makes her want to scream.
Eyes are closed, head is bowed,
Trying not to swoon,
Words are said confessing acts of sin.
Just as when scarlet spills
From an open wound,
Pain subsides and healing soon sets in.
When sin is realized,
And confession made,
Asking for His help is needed, too.
Humbly ask forgiveness
(As we all have prayed);
Imperfection rules us; sad, but true.
Ask for His will to be
Accomplished on Earth;
The sanctification of His name.
These are things important;
These should be the girth
As we pray to he who us did claim.
When in doubt, do without;
Love one as oneself;
Do to others what you would have done.
These things that we have learned,
Don't put on the shelf
But into our hearts and lives as one.
Through the name of His son
She asks all these things,
Then closes her prayer with an "Amen".
She then feels light of hope,
And her heart grows wings,
But she knows that this is not the end.
Faith without works is dead.
Steps need to be made
To show her repentance is sincere.
Jehovah will help her.
She is not afraid.
Through this wicked world she'll persevere.
Though she goes on with life
Though the past gets dim,
Lessons learned stand 'gainst the test of time.
She recalls her mistakes,
And though they were grim,
She still follows the Most High Sublime.
Sunlight has been replaced
By the pale moonlight.
Ruthless night sets in; cold and unfair.
She will gain guidance from
Jah's eternal light.
She will always persevere in prayer.
