"I’ll never forget the first time in my life that I transformed from man to hybreed. It was a gentle spring night when the pale moon ascended over the distant hills. My indifferent temperament was interrupted by an uncomfortable ache, which pulsed through my muscles and bones. Thousands of little pinpricks enflamed my skin as the hair all over my body increased in quantity exponentially. It felt as though every cell in my body, even my blood itself, became strained with an energizing heat. I looked at my hands and arms as they lengthened and twisted in form to something more primal in nature.
As the heat of the transformation diminished, I became overwhelmed with the information that my newly honed senses were giving me. Trees became vibrant with color; an owl far in the distance could clearly be heard hooting. It was as if my entire surroundings were singing out their existence to me. Then, suddenly, I could smell a remote, luscious odor; indeed, it was the unmistakable odor of potential prey.
I ventured off to explore and indulge in my newfound abilities. As I bounded into the night, I found myself oblivious to any worry or care that was not entangled in that precise moment in my life, for all other thoughts were hidden from my mind by my overpowering, primeval instincts. I grew to enjoy my new lycanthropic obligation on a night when the moon is near. I have been a hybreed ever since, and I cherish every breath of it."
